Discover the real Cambodia by bike!

Discover the real Cambodia on this 10 day cycling adventure that will see you pedal through some of the land’s most rural and scenic landscapes. Starting off in the historic capital of Phnom Penh, we first pause to learn of the country’s tragic history before embarking on bike to uncover the many varied and beautiful layers Cambodia has to offer. Cycling through the port town of Kampong Chhang and colonial Battambang, we also ride through remote villages, across gentle rivers and along quiet rural paths that dot the countryside. Expect to be warmly welcomed by the locals as we ride before ending our rewarding journey in Siem Reap to explore the magnificent Angkor Wat by bike!

Essential Info

Eating and Drinking

All breakfasts and 1 dinner are included.

Food is cheap in Cambodia and you can generally avoid the spicier food if you wish. Cambodia's food is all about the contrasts—sweet and bitter, salty and sour, fresh and cooked. It shares many dishes with its neighbors, and you'll find noodle soup similar to Vietnamese pho, Thailand's refreshing salads and sour soups, Indian-inspired curries, and noodles and stir fries handed down from years of Chinese migration. From Cambodia's days as a French Indochina colony, there's a national love of coffee, pate, and good bread. Baguettes are served with soup, made into sandwiches, and sold by men riding bicycles carrying baskets of long loaves. Western food is also available in most of the places visited.

You may find it beneficial to bring some 'cycling snacks' with you from home if you have high energy bars or gels that you like to use during a ride.

For those who wish to contribute, a kitty is normally arranged - fresh fruit will be provided along the way but most cycling groups find it very useful to contribute to a snack kitty for extra snacks, energy drinks and electrolytes. Whilst group sizes will vary, as a suggestion we suggest allowing from 10-15 USD per person if you wish to contribute to a snack kitty.

Vegetarian food is widely available, however the offering will be fairly similar in most places. Please advise at time of booking if you have any dietary requirements.

Is this trip for you?

*This trip is rated Activity Level 3- Moderate and classified Road.*

8 days cycling, average 50-55 km/day (31-34 miles), 90% vehicle support.

*Terrain and Route:* Road surfaces are mostly on good tarmac with some dirt roads. The route is predominantly flat with some undulation and anyone not wanting to cycle all day can use the support vehicle. This is a moderate graded cycling trip that is suitable for capable cyclists who wish to discover Cambodia by bike. There are some longer transfers during the trip when not cycling to allow us to cover certain distances and visit some of Cambodia's highlights combined with more rural, remote areas. Cambodia can be hot and humid but rests and water are readily available. You should be comfortable riding in traffic on some occasions.
