We are loving the Exodus banthebottle campaign, a simple plan that aims to reduce large quantities of single use plastic used by tourists every day.
Nearly a million plastic water bottles are purchased globally every minute with the average tourist going through an average of four bottles per day.
Our partners, Exodus, have launched a #banthebottle campaign where they have pledged to eradicate single use plastic bottles on all of their 600 tours by the end of 2018.
This means that guests are asked to pack their own reusable bottles when joining a tour. Tour leaders supply 20lt containers of drinking water which guests can use to refill their bottles.
The initiative is cutting down hugely on single use plastic but we also recommend the following options to further reduce consumption: say no to straws, use reusable shopping bags and recycle wherever possible.
We encourage you to do your bit when traveling too!
